URL features – Live URL, URL Pre-filter, and URL Filter
Starting with version 6.2, the Flaremap JS URL has three new features:
- The Flaremap JS URL can be optionally enabled to instantaneously update every time a control and/or filter is changed. This Live URL allows users to share an exact view with other users and/or reference a custom configuration simply by clicking on a URL.
- The Flaremap JS URL can be used as a clever mechanism for pre-filtering data before the data is loaded into the application. This URL pre-filter allows users to focus on a specific part of a dataset without having to first apply filters, and/or to analyze a slice of a large database without having to understand or perform complicated database transformations.
- The Flaremap JS URL can be used for creating impromptu filters that are not defined in the application. This URL filter allows users to quickly and easily create new filters by simply updating the URL anchor. Important to note, URL filters act like native filters – i.e. URL filters are applied after the data is loaded into the application. For instance, the application will prepare the min/max values of a slider with the original dataset in mind – before applying any URL filters.
